Color

Setting your camera to custom color, rather than relying on auto white balance, is going to save you hours of time in post-production. If you are familiar with setting custom color or shooting in Kelvin, by all means, use those settings. Otherwise, we recommend you choose the white balance that best fits your conditions (e.g., cloudy, fluorescent, etc.). By doing so, your images will have a more consistent color profile that can be batch/mass edited in a single click in Lightroom.

If you were to shoot in auto white balance, the camera would change your color profile depending on the direction of your shot and the ambient color that the camera is reading. Trust us on this one – it will save you loads of time and editing headaches!

NOTE: When working with a team of photographers, compare notes and set white balance together so that you all are shooting with the same color profile.
